South Korean midfielder, Ki Sung-yueng, transferred his football club to Newcastle United. Ki is a captain for South Korea, and he is now thinking about retiring a member of a national team. He was one of the players in Swansea City AFC. However, Swansea City was degraded to the second tier EFL Championship among 20 Premier League clubs last season. Newcastle finished in the tent place with 44 points. Therefore, most of the South Korean people were interested in famous foreign soccer players' transfer, so they were not expecting Ki's transfer. Nevertheless, Ki succeeded his transfer to Newcastle United, and it made people surprised.
Ki began his professional career in FC Seoul from 2006 to 2009. Then, he moved to Celtic in the Scottish Premier League in winter of the 2009 to 2010 season. He spent two and a half seasons there and signed with Swansea City in August 2012. Ki also spent one season in Sunderland on loan, helping them avoid degradation in 2013 to 2014 season before returning to Swansea City. The captain of South Korea soccer team, Ki, is one of the most loved soccer players of South Korean and has participated in three FIFA World Cups. He could not participate in a match with Germany in 2018 Russia World Cup because of his knee injury. South Korea was eliminated, so people are now expecting Ki's debut in Newcastle.
