Have you ever heard about kimchi? Have you ever eaten kimchi? Kimchi is a traditional Korean food.

Nowadays, not only Koreans but also foreigners eat lots of kimchi every year. Actually, there are many kinds of kimchi, but baechu-kimchi is the most common.

Baechu-kimchi is made with salted napa cabbages with a mixture of julienned white radish, red chili pepper powder, minced garlic, chopped scallion, jeotgal, and other ingredients. Kimchi, along with a bowl of steamed rice, is an essential part of every Korean meal. There are many kinds of kimchi such as baechu kimchi, baek kimchi, nabak kimchi, kkakdugi, and oi sobagi.


Also, there are many kinds of dishes made with kimchi such as kimchi jeon, kimchi fried rice, kimchi dumpling, kimchi stew, and steamed pork kimchi. When consumed in moderation, kimchi has various health benefits, and it is the most well-knownand familiar Korean dish to foreigners.

Kimchi is a fermented dish made with vegetables and a variety of seasoning ingredients. There are currently over three hundred varieties, but when it was first made prior to the Three Kingdoms Period, making kimchi required only a very simple recipe of salting and storing napa cabbages in an earthenware vessel to ferment for some time. In the old days, kimchi was an important source of vitamins in winter when fresh vegetables were unavailable.


What was originally a simple salted pickle now requires various seasonings, but the modernization of kimchi-making process has allowed it to become well-known throughout the world. Kimchi varies by climate, geographical conditions, local ingredients, methods of preparation and preservation.


Kimchi is a very delicious and healthy food in South Korea. These days, kimchi is famous all over the world. Koreans and even foreigners enjoy eating this Korean food.
