Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that all elementary schools in Busan will be abolished to use objective tests. Kim Seock-joon, superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Eduction, said that it made the unprecedented decision to help boost students' abilities to think and solve problems. He also said that "With the method of cramming, memorizing and picking answers, we cannot deal with the ever-changing society of the fourth industrial revolution." during a press conference.

There are few teachers who got elementary evaluationspecialized education. Also, in middle and high school, objective tests are still used. It would make students moore confusing. However, Sung Byung-chang, professor of Busan National University of Education, said "Now, we do not have much interest in the evaluation results. It's gradually moving toward process-based assessment. Middle and high school will gradually change like this, too."
In this situation, there are many opinions about this, expectation and worry. Kim Jae-cheol, representative of the Korea Federation of Teacher's Associations said that it is better for education not to abolish objective test but to mix objective and subjecive test. One parent in Busan, who has an elementary school student, said, "The narrative and essay questions are confusing because they do not know what criteria teachers will judge by what criteria they are right or wrong." And, they also said, "In order to get good grades in the descriptive evaluation, it is necessary to send additional children to essay school."
There were also expectation. An elementary school teacher in Busan said, "Classes focused on debating are already ongoing. And, it is proper that to evaluate with descripting and stating test for genertaion's change. A citizen in Busan also said that "Education to find various opinion and possibilities has to be achieved. Lee Jae-myeong, mayor of Seongnam-si, said that he think that abolishing objective tests would be great in the aspect that it can help removing sequencing.
Because it is first try in Korea to abolish objective test, there are many worries that it would confuse students. However, there are also expectation that it would help removing sequencing.
