Two-African-American who were sitting without order was arrested by police at a Starbucks store in Philadelphia in April.

In response to this accident, many people said that if they were White, they would not be arrested.

Along with the accident, video recording an African-American refused to use the bathroom at a Starbucks store in LA was released.

There have been other racial discriminations like drawing slanted eyes to belittle Asian.

These accidents led to boycott in front of the store in Philadelphia.

A protester said that they are going to make Starbucks not to make a profit on that day.

The sign they were holding was "Coffee is black."

Through this protest, the racial problem in Starbucks became controversial, and people demanded an explanation against Starbucks.

Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, closed about 8,000 stores for racial bias training on May 29th.

He said in CNN interview on May 30th that racism is a long-lasting problem in the United States.

All Americans will want to live in America, who respect every American person.

Recently occurred accidents became an experience, which made Starbucks more educational and better.


About 175,000 staffs working at Starbucks in the United States were educated with anti-racism experts for four hours.

They confessed the feeling they had against another gender or race and got trained to find the solution to this problem.

On that day, Starbucks closed 8,000 stores in the United States from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and made staffs educated in each store.

The representative of Starbucks said that considerable amount of business loss is expected by ceasing operation, however, this is really necessary in terms of investment for the future

. Schultz mentioned that education on May 29th was the first step among lots of future anti-racism training.

Schultz also mentioned that Trump government is responsible for this accident.

He added that racism statement from the government seemed to make social atmosphere to allow such racism statement.

We shall see the racial problem in Starbucks with more attention.
