There were also some new teams. Panama and Iceland were able to play in the World Cup for the first time. England, which was bad at national team competition, reached the semifinal since the time they did it 28 years ago. Sweden and Croatia also went against people's expectation. Sweden went to the quarterfinal, and Croatia finally went to the final, after defeating Denmark, Russia, and England all in overtime.

Another team in the final match in France. France, which is rated as one of the best squads in this world cup went to the final after beating Argentina, Uruguay, and Belgium. Many experts are expecting that France will win against Croatia in the final. That is because Croatia, which won in the round 16, quarterfinal, and semifinal all in overtime will be more tired than France. Also, France's squad is better rated than Croatia. However, the ball is round. Croatia is not a weak team, so nobody knows who will win the World Cup in the end.

Meanwhile, South Korea, which was in the same group with Germany, Sweden and Mexico ended its journey before round 16 with one stunning win and two painful losses. South Korea beat Germany 2-0, and because of this victory, Germany failed to pass the group stage.
