「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」, a novel written by Cho Nam-ju, became a hot topic among the people because of its cinematization. This original novel is really famous in our society with the title of feminism. It is considered a feminist novel because it featured the 20s and 30s women's real-life problems. According to Kyobo, the largest bookstore in Korea, 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」 took the tenth place on their best-seller list in the third week of September 2018.

The movie, 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」, will be released in the first half of 2019. Bombaram studio, which was founded by a go-ahead woman, Park Ji-young and Guak Hui-jin has a publication right of it. They chose Jung Yoomi to play the role of the main character, Kim Ji-young, and Gong Yu to play the role of Jeong Daehyeon, husband of Kim Ji-young. This movie has almost the same synopsis with its original novel. Boram Studio instructed that they have paid attention about Kim-Ji young's mental illness which caused by the patriarchal society around her.

Boram Studio, the distributing agency of the movie 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」, uncased the reason why they chose 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」. They said that they could relate to the main character, Kim Ji-young, and they thought that it can also catch the people's attention. Bombaram Studio also informed that they made a contact with Cho Nam-ju, the author of 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」, in June 2017. Also, in May 2018, they contacted that publication right.

However, lots of netizens are debating about the cinematization of 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」. They are worried that the movie would bring gender-conflict into our society, and they pointed out the attitude of the Bombaram Studio. Some netizens are worried that this movie would infringe gender equality. Also, there are some cyber bullying problems. Some people who do not like the novel, 「Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982」, send malicious comments to the actors, especially Jung Yoomi.
