Nowadays, many people seek healthy food to eat than in the past. For instance, people tend to cook food with olive oil. Because this tendency is increasing more and more even now, Time Magazine singled out World's Ten Superfood in 2002.

Many people do not know the standard of the superfood. The first standard of the superfood is to prevent the break out of many illnesses. For example, it prevents cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. Also, it has almost low calories, so it helps people on a diet. Second, superfood contains phytochemicals. Phytochemical has good effects. It reduces the risk of cancer and boosts the immune system and even protects our heart.

According to Time Magazine, the World's Ten Superfoods are oats, blueberry, green tea, salmon, garlic, broccoli, almond, red wine, spinach, and tomato. They have a lot of health effects. For instance, first, oats and tomato can prevent cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Then, blue berry can protect our sight and boost the immune system. Green tea and spinach can prevent stomach and lung cancer and even reduce cholesterol. Salmon and garlic can prevent cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. Then, broccoli and red wine can stave off cancer, and almond can prevent Alzheimer's disease and disturb lipophagia.


Because of the low calories of superfood which is one of the great properties, there are many good effects on people when they are on a diet. In one magazine, Anna Hathaway who appeared in Les Miserables said she had her diet by eating oats which is one of World's Ten Superfood. She said that she ate few oats and trained down, so she was able to reduce eleven kilograms.


Superfood has a lot of great virtues in our health and even diet. If we want to be healthier than now, we should start eating superfood.
