The Pokemon Company released a trailer for its new movie 'Detective Pikachu' online on November 13, 2019. It is a remake of the Nintendo game 'Detective Pikachu.' It is directed by Rob Letterman and it is produced by Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. It will be released in May in Korea.
It was announced on April 15th, 2016, that it was officially in pre-production. So, there was concern about it being of similar quality with movies of many other “realistic” movies in Japan because they were all evaluated as poor. But fortunately, in test previews, its evaluation has been good.
The trailer showed many realistic Pokemon, including Pikachu, Charmander, Dodrio, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Greninja, Squirtle, Mr.Mime, Pidgeotto, Comfey, Braviary, Emolga, and many other Pokemon. They are only a few of the Pokemon that will appear in the movie. Some people think the realistic Pokemon are similar to real animals and have fur, but other people think they don’t look good because of the same reason.
It is a remake of the 2016 Nintendo game, so it is based on the game. The background of both is Lime City, and in them, the partner of Pikachu, Tim is the only person who can hear Pikachu’s real voice. Pikachu in the movie is voiced by Ryan Reynolds. The movie is expected to have a similar story to the game because of Tim's appearance, the behavior of Charizard in the trailer, and many other reasons. So, people who are anticipating the new movie are recommended not to play the game if they don't want to see spoilers.
