Today, we are living in an aging society where the aging population is rising. So, the medical cost of the elderly is increasing, and it causes all medical costs to increase on and on. As a result, this can make poor people cannot go to hospitals. We need to solve this problem to make a better society which has a low medical expense to cure people with some diseases.

To make a better society, there is a solution which is called primary care. It means more than just a level of care or a gatekeeper. It has contact, accessibility, continuity, comprehensiveness, and coordination, which are the most important processes in the health care system. First, contact care means residents can use it whenever they need it. Second, continuity means not just curing the diseases for a short time but caring with health management for a long time. Third, comprehensiveness is solving regional common health problems in various ways. Lastly, coordination is connecting or linking proper specialists and many health resources of the local community when the residents need help.

There are some advantages when people use primary care. First, the medical service access in regional and cost aspect is equal. Second, continuity of treatment can reduce hospitalization days and use of emergency rooms. Lastly, it will save their money a lot. However, this has not been spread widely yet because there are some problems. Many special subjects do not have an interest in the importance of primary care, so many professors are not interested in it. Also, some people do not know what it is and why it is important.

For these problems, there are some solutions to foster primary care in our society. The nation needs to consider the policy about revenue and to give extra compensation to those people who render health care to residents. Also, the government should enhance the health education by learning primary care and emphasizing the importance of it. Then, we can make a healthy society.
