In South Korea, the economy has decreased because of the boycott of Japanese products nowadays. It started about three months ago, but nowadays, it is still continuing. Many people have participated in the boycott from all ages. However, there are also a lot of people who do not know why they boycott Japanese products.
The reason of the boycott is connected with an issue happened a hundred years ago. From 1910 to 1945, the Japanese illegally occupied Korea, so many people in Korea were affected by that. In that event, Japanese did not reflect Korean people, so the victims of Japanese occupation claimed for the damages to compensate that incident in 2018. However, the Japanese did not accept it. Moreover, they excluded South Korea on the white list which is the list of countries which get the simplification benefits during exporting strategic goods. To oppose it, South Korean people started the boycott of Japanese products, and it became known widely. So, many people in South Korea have participated in it.

Because of the boycott, the consumption of Japanese products has decreased. In addition, the import of the business which is connected with Japan like the airport has also declined. According to the data, the sales of Japanese products have decreased by about 50 percent to 70 percent. However, the boycott also affected other people like the small businesses of people in South Korea which are associated with Japanese companies. To protect the decreasing import, some Japanese businesses sold the products cheaper than before. However, South Korean people disregarded it. To add, according to the article, the imports of German cars are increasing while the consumption of Japanese cars is decreased by bout 60 percent.
Nowadays, people who participate in boycotting Japanese products have decreased, but there are still many people doing it. The boycott continued for about three months, so there are some people who felt the inconvenience of the boycott. Doing a boycott is not a duty, but many people have participated in it. Also, it has affected both South Korea and Japan. The main reason of the boycott is to oppose Abe who is the prime minister of Japan, but some people did not know that there is something wrong about the boycott. So, it will be good to solve that situation as soon as possible.
