The director Tokyo of International Film Festival decided to screen the movie "Shusenjo: The Main Battleground of the Comfort Women Issue". At first, the Tokyo International Film Festival canceled the screening of the movie because of the concern about extreme rights suits. However, many other movie directors and people criticized that decision and required movie directors' freedom of expression. So, the director of the festival redetermined to screen the movie.

Comfort women are the women who were sex slaves of the military during World War II. In Japan, many young people and students do not know about this comfort women problem. So, when they get news from TV, radio or newspapers, they might have negative perceptions, and they might believe that Korea is wrong, and Japan is right. So, in Japan, it is difficult to release a movie about comfort women.

However, Miki Dezaki a movie director produced the movie to let many people know the fact about comfort women, and Japanese military sexual slavery. He believes that there are differences between the information in Korea and information in Japan, and it makes Japanese people believe the wrong information. So, he tried to show the context of the problem and make the point. The thing that he wanted by producing this movie is to correct what the Japanese people know and let all the people know about this problem. Moreover, he wanted to let people believe that this problem is not just an issue between Japan and Korea, but also an issue about human rights.

Although Miki Dezaki can be sued by the extreme rights suit, he produced the movie about the Japanese military sexual slavery. Also, in the situation that many young people and students in Japan do not know about the exact comfort women problem, the production of a film by a Japanese-American movie director to correct the problem is great work.
