The more global warming becomes serious, the more desertification accelerates. Everyone knows the fact that it means danger to the global world. Uprising desertification damages human lives in diverse ways.
Desertification is a phenomenon where lands become devastated by low annual precipitation but high evaporation loss. It has a natural factor and an artificial factor. The former is a constant drought by the change of atmospheric general circulation. Atmospheric general circulation causes a formation of atmospheric pressure. Where the pressure is high, the areas are so clear that the rain hardly falls. This is the reason why the change of the circulation arouses which will result in a continuous drought. Artificial reasons are various, but the main factors are indiscreet deforestation and excessive pasture and cultivation. They eliminate fertile lands and consequently cause devastation of the land.
The severity of desertification is also diverse. For example, a desert in China makes yellow dust, and it affects other countries by westerlies. For example, people in South Korea suffer from yellow dust every spring. It becomes more severe every year, and fine dust also follows it now. Another problem is a decrease in cultivation land and livestock. If this phenomenon continues and spreads all over the world, the Earth will have a shortage of food. Furthermore, the drought will cause a shortage of water, either, Water is an essential material for life, so losses of water and food would arouse the extinction of humans in the result.
Desertification is just the result of global warming; however, the influence of it is severe. As people realized the danger, they are making a social campaign to prevent it from getting worse. These movements would make desertification relieve, and the lives of people would be relatively safe unless they boost global warming at once.
