On March 20th, 2020, Nintendo released the new game, "Animal Crossing: New Horizon (ACNH)". Before the release, people were interested in this game because the last Animal Crossing series had been released in 2008. The release of this game was announced in 2018. Its release was expected in 2019, but Nintendo delayed it to prevent overwork on the project.

This game attracted many people before its release because it has many differences from the previous Animal Crossing games. The game system became more convenient and many other elements have been improved. First, they created a DIY function. This function allows people to make anything if they have the recipe and enough materials. This means people don't have to buy the things they need, unlike the previous Animal Crossing games. Second, people can change the topography of the island. Players won't have to spend a long time to find and choose new comfortable and unique topography for their island. Another reason this game is in fashion is due to the timing of its release. It was released during the COVID-19 spread. Because of social distancing, people aren't going out often and so this game has become a popular way to spend time. Some people have even held a wedding ceremony in ACNH.

This game is receiving both harsh and favorable reviews because many things have been changed. One of the reasons it is well received is because the background of the game was changed. While the background of the previous Animal Crossing games was a town, the background of ACNH is an island. Also, because this series has returned after 12 years, the graphics and quality of the game have risen sharply. The system has become more convenient and the animal villagers became more realistic. Conversations with the villagers and the activities of the villagers have increased. Mileage systems have also been created. It is generally praised for having more things to do. It makes gamers able to enjoy ACNH for a longer time

Nevertheless, this game has also received some harsh criticism from some people. First, because some content that existed in the previous Animal Crossing game was deleted. The variety of furniture increased for the DIY system; however, the variety in the same kind of furniture decreased. Because of the way of bringing in villagers increased, some bugs related to the villagers' houses occurred. Many bugs have been fixed, but some still remain. Korean translation has a few problems, too. The names of some fish and insects were mistranslated. Some people also criticized the penalty of time manipulation because of its weakening. But it seems that if people use time manipulation, some content isn't unlocked until the required time passes. For example, an art museum turns into locked data when people use time manipulation.

Though it received many harsh criticisms, this game could be evaluated as a successful release in Korea. Though there were some conflicts with Japan, many Koreans want to play this game. Some people have bought the Nintendo game console ACNH edition and sold it at an exorbitant price. There is even a lack of Nintendo game consoles in Korea. Although some controversy was surrounded by its release, it is in fashion worldwide.
